A massive influx of copyright claims strikes streamers twitch

Online content creation has long been a stressful business. For a while, Twitch seemed to be the most user-friendly option, unlike something like YouTube. Unfortunately, a huge wave of copyright claims puts the lie to this hypothesis. It seems that the hammer finally falls. The TWITCH support posted the following message yesterday on Twitter:

This week, we had a sudden influx of DMCA withdrawal requests for clips with the 2017–2019 background music. If you are unsure about audio rights in previous streams, we advise you to delete these clips. We know that many of you have big archives, and we strive to make your task easier.

Ryan Morrison Legal Counsel offered some advice on this, noting that the ignorance of these demands could be dangerous. Streamers should not take any other action without prior consulting with a professional legal counsel. Working with an attitude of business as usual could make you pursue in a fiery oversight. Although these copyright laws have always been in place, it is only now that they are applied. Without a sort of radical legislative changes, more or less each Twitch Streamer using game background music is completely vulnerable to legal persecution under these rules.
