Alexander Lubina is dead: former long-distance runner in Mallorca crashed

The former German Ashlethleth Alexander Lubina had come to Mallorca at the age of 42 years. This confirmed his club TV Wattenscheid 01. Lubina was started in 2002 at the EM in Munich over 10,000 m.

According to the Spanish Guardia Civil, the long-distance runner was detected in a cave of a wave and hurled against the rocks.

According to information of the waz Lubina had passed over 10,000 meters — a training camp there together with Jan Fitschen — ex-European champion. The two probably knew through their shared time in sports.

Lubina had won the German championship over 10,000 meters in 2002 and was reached at the following European Championship in Munich. Overall, he became eleven Maler’s champion until he had to end his career for persistent injury problems with only 28 years.

The former club of the native Bottropper expressed his condolences: “The TV Wattenscheid athletics is with the thoughts with the relatives of Alexander Lubina and wishes the survivors in this difficult time above all strength.”

Lubina leaves a woman and a son.
