Making the most of FIFA 20 scouting reports

When your scout reports come back, look at the player’s age and his current rating (which will be just over halfway between the two numbers) and potential rating (which is the same).

For example, if the current or potential rating is between 60–70, the actual value will be around 65–66. By working out this current value when you get the report, this will allow you to make a decision straight away. We recommend that any player with a current value under 52 — don’t bother with them. Players of 52–59 — scout further and players of 60–64 — consider signing. If you’re lucky enough to scout a player with a current rating of 65 or over, you want to be signing this player.

You also need to take into account the age of the player. A 14-year-old with a current value of 53 will have time to improve before they can be offered a contract (at age 17). A player of 15 or 17 years old rated 53 will have less time to recover. Therefore, get 14-year-olds in your academy and see how they develop. Taking a 17 year old with a current rating of under 55 is mainly going to bear little reward (unless you’re a smaller club of course and a 55 rated 17-year-old player is going to have the chance to develop into a low estimated 70’s, the ’80s if you follow our secret formula, player who would be suitable for the standard he is going to be playing). The last part of the report you need to take into account is the players’ projected potential. U4GM FIFA 20 Coins Teams recommend that any player whose potential is coming in around the around 82 or below the mark, you reject straight away (presuming that you’re managing a top European club). The reason behind this is that eventually, your scout will refine his report and that top-end potential will drop below 80, and nobody wants youth prospects that aren’t going to develop into first-team players. If you’re a lower-end team and an 80 rated youth player would be extremely beneficial, then go ahead and sign the player up. It’s all relative to your club and your ambitions as a team. If there are any prospects whose top potential is showing over 85/6–90+ we recommend you sign them immediately to guard against other clubs hiring them (and they will if you don’t act quickly). If they drop too much, you can always release them, and you won’t have lost out.

Any other prospects around the 82–86 mark, we’d recommend you scout them for another month or two. Monitor their progress to see if their potential carries through or not. If this is showing up at less than 72, don’t bother with it. It’ll take the young player ages to develop, and they’ll only ever be average at best once they reach their potential. Outstanding players may have potential ratings of 85 or over and these are the players you cannot afford to miss out on so make sure you act quickly to secure them.
