Check in the online games has become a big problem lately, and it seems that Nintendo is taking proactive measures before the launch of Mario Strikers: Battle League and Splatoon 3. On May 19, the company requested a new patent with the Office of Patents and Registered Brands of the United States for a program that automatically generates attestation programs to verify whether the software has been compromised or modified in some way by the user. According to Nintendo’s presentation, technology would make much more difficult than trap software is not detected.

«The attestation results calculated by each attestation program depend on the code sequences used. Since there are thousands of useful code sequences in a typical game, the results cannot be easily predicted or falsified. The logic described here does not necessarily have to depend on any secret. (for example, keys, algorithms) and can even work when the system is completely committed, ”says the presentation.

As Kotaku notes, it is difficult to say if this method would be more effective than any of the anti-trampa measures that we have seen of companies such as 343 Industries and Activision. However, it shows that Nintendo is taking this problem seriously and is looking for ways to address the traps proactively. As we have recently seen in games like Halo Infinito and llade of duty: War Zone, the traps have become a big problem for online games and are making it much less pleasant for players. If this new method really makes it harder to cheat in online games, it could not arrive at a better time.

“These unfair advantages result in the game being much less satisfactory to the user, which affects the general experience of the human user and the interaction in the game,” reads the presentation.

With Mario Strikers: Battle Liga that will be launched on June 10, and _splatoon 3 As of September 9, Nintendo Switch users will soon see for themselves if these online games remain fair to all.
